A “hat trick” in baseball is when a player hits three HRs in a single game. The feat you referred to above (single, double, triple, HR) is called “hitting for the cycle”.

Did you spot that the Wikipedia entry for “mopery” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mopery) referred to The Word Detective,Issue of January 15, 2002, as a source?
I didn’t check it out, but it seems pretty cool to be named as a source in Wiki…
