I grew up in St Paul, MN and in our neighborhood (close the the Minneapolis line) we called them chugs as well.

Grew up in Roseville MN (St. Paul) in 60’s. We had chugs – they were home made go karts WITH a lawn mower engine. Great fun and you were mobile! You might start with an old wagon or??

Growing up on the east side of St.Paul in the early 80s we called them Chugs as well.

I’m from Stillwater, MN and we also called them “chugs” back in the 60’s.
