    More specific uses of “camera” in the 17th century included “chamber where a legislative or judicial body meets or deliberates.” This use persists only in the legal phrase “in camera,”

    That use also persists in the phrase “bicameral legislature (or, more rarely, unicameral).

    I recently noticed in Italy that ‘room’ is called ‘camera’. My native language is Urdu and room is called camera in Urdu as well.
