I think fork split means you can use a fork to split it, otherwise you have to use a knife. It’s like a perforated muffin lol

For curious searchers of the word ‘twitterpated’ who are also curious about the fork-split English muffin, it is considered preferrable to split said muffins with either a fork or one’s own hands, which, unlike a knife, preserves the topography of the inner muffin as opposed to a perfectly even surface.
